Ready at Work

If you work in Marin County, there’s a chance that you might experience an emergency.

Marin County is a great place to work. But it is also at high risk for earthquakes, wildfires, flooding, and more. If you work in Marin County, follow these steps to get ready.

  1. Have a go-bag with you

You could keep a go-bag in the trunk of your car or in your locker at work. Pack what you would need if you couldn’t get home for a night or two.

  2. Sign up for alerts

Make sure you receive emergency alerts at your place of work as well as for your home.

  3. Know where safety items are

Make sure you know where fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and AEDs are at work.

  4. Take a first aid class

Basic first aid training is always useful whether at work or at home. Sign up for an American Red Cross training that accommodates your schedule.

  5. Help your agency get ready
    • Share this page with your colleagues.
    • Ask your supervisor to share the office evacuation plan.
    • Work with your employer to make sure there are supplies to support employees during a shelter in place.
